Corrie McGrath, Head Coach, Sweep

Corrie returns to the USJNT coaching staff for a fifth year, aiding in the Identification and Selection processes as well. This year she takes on a new role as Head Coach of the JWDT. In the summer of 2009 & 2010, McGrath assumed the role of head coach for the CanAmMex athletes. In the summer of 2008 McGrath assisted with the High Performance Team. The following summer Corrie coached for the CanAmMex team that raced in Oakridge Tennessee. A former standout rower for Washington State University, Corrie McGrath begins her third season on the Cougar coaching staff as the head novice coach. McGrath returns to the Palouse after a year as the head novice coach and assistant varsity coach at Clemson University in Clemson, S.C. On top of her duties as novice coach at Clemson, McGrath served as the director of recruiting and oversaw the graduate assistant and volunteer staff. Prior to her work with the Tigers, McGrath served as the varsity lightweight coach at the University of Central Florida in 2005-06 and as an assistant coach for UCF, which placed 16th at the NCAA Championships in 2007. Returning to her former high school rowing club, McGrath started her coaching career with the Everett Rowing Association from 2003-05. She served as masters recruiting coordinator, and as lightweight varsity and novice coach. McGrath rowed at Washington State from 2000-03 where she earned four letters and served as team captain. A two-time Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) second team All-American, four-time CRCA West Region First Team and two-time Pacific-10 All-Conference honoree, McGrath led the Cougars to NCAA Championship appearances in 2002 and `03. Academically, McGrath was twice named to the Pacific-10 Conference All-Academic Team. She earned a degree in psychology, with minors in sociology and sport management from WSU in 2003.
Charles Huthmaker, Head Coach, Sculling

Charles brings 22 years of rowing and coaching this summer to the USRowing Development Camp. Currently Charles is coaching at Connecticut Boat Club in Norwalk, CT where he assists with the Varsity crews and coaches sculling. CBC has qualified 4 crews for the USRowing Youth Championships this spring. In 2004 Charles came to the USRowing Development and Selection camps in New London as the Equipment Mangaer and in 2005 was the sculling coach for the USRowing Junior Girls Development and Junior B camps. At the 2005 USRowing National Championships his boats won the Junior Double and the Junior B Double in addition to a Silver medal in the Junior B Quad. That same summer saw the Junior 16 quad win gold at the Independence Day Regatta. Lastly, at the 2005 CanAmMex Regatta both the women's quad and the women's double won gold. In 1988 he started rowing at Stetson University and a passion for crew was born. Having coached at all levels of rowing from beginner to elite, his crews have won local, regional and national championships. His experiences include UMass, Yale and Stetson Univ., Orlando Rowing Club, Atlanta Rowing Club, Norwalk River Rowing and Connecticut Boat Club. During summers, Charles has assisted at the USRowing Women's Senior Selection Camp and the USRowing Junior Women's Selection and Development Camps and in 2006 he was the Director of the USRowing Sculling Development Camp in Northamption, MA. Charles is married and lives in Trumbull with his wife Jackie. When he's not coaching Charles is renovating his 18th century home in Norwalk, CT.
